Congressman Peter Roskam visits MET Plastics. 6th district Illinois congressman Peter Roskam visited MET Plastics to discuss the challenges that the moldbuilding and molding industry are facing. The congressman received a tour of MET Plastics facility and was provided with an overview of industry challenges and the strategies MET Plastics is implementing to adapt to the changing manufacturing environment. The congressman also answered questions from MET Plastics employees, discussing U.S. manufacturing, healthcare, and the business environment.

MET Plastics adds robotic capabilities to its 720 ton molding press.
MET Plastics added a new Sepro Access 33robot to its 720 ton molding press. The added robotics will provide improved efficiency and cycle consistency, resulting in improved part quality and price competitiveness.

MET Plastics goes live with Zontec Synergy inspection software. The software allows for real-time statistical process monitoring and paperless inspection data documentation.

MET Plastics completes the installation of a new JSW J55AD 60 ton all-electric molding press. The press was purchased to handle growing demand for small, tight tolerance parts that MET Plastics is molding for the medical and aerospace industries.

MET Plastics completes the installation of a new fully automated Sheffield Discovery II CNC CMM. The CMM provides improved inspection throughput and accuracy, and allows for immediate SPC data downloads. The CMM includes PC DMIS Pro software with the capability to measure parts to CAD data.
